What is the difference between 3D ultrasound, 4D ultrasound and HD ultrasound?

3D is a still image while 4D adds the dimension of motion so it looks like a video. Additionally, HD Live is an extraordinary way to capture amazingly realistic images of your baby while he or she is still in the womb. The images are saved in high definition to provide you with superior clarity and image quality.

Is 3D/ 4D/HD ultrasound safe for me and my baby?

3D/4D/HD ultrasound uses the same frequency as your doctor's office uses in the normal 2D ultrasound. Ultrasounds have been used for over 40 years and there have been no proven side effects from its proper use. I strictly adhere to the FDA's standards.

When is the best time to have a 2D/3D/4D HD ultrasound?

That depends on what you are looking to see. Many mothers like coming in soon after they find out they are pregnant to hear the heartbeat. At 14-26 weeks, when they can see the baby as a whole or to determine gender, and then again at 25-34 weeks to see a more detailed face. Between 28 and 32 weeks, your baby develops more fat and gets a more defined face. After 32 weeks, it becomes more difficult to obtain good pictures since the baby is running out of room. However all babies are different and we have been successful in obtaining great images all the way up to labor and delivery!

How good are you at determining the sex of the baby?

In my 20 years of scanning in an OB office I have 100% accuracy and I intend on keeping it that way! At 14 weeks the gender can usually be determined. If you are at 14 weeks and the gender can not be seen, I invite you to come back for a 15 minute rescan for free in the next 14 days.

What should I do prior to the 3D/4D appointment?

Drink plenty of water even several days before your appointment to ensure your amniotic fluid is good. About a half hour before your appointment try to drink or eat something sugary such as fruit juice or candy so that your baby will be awake during your session (unless you are told not to by your physician).

Are family and friends welcome to join?

Yes! I encourage you to bring your friends and family to share this special moment with you. You may bring up to 6 people with you.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card, and debit cards. I do not accept checks.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not accept insurance because this is an elective procedure.

Will my doctor be contacted about the 3d/4d ultrasound?

I do not contact your doctor prior to the scan since this is an elective procedure. I do recommend, however, that you currently are under prenatal care and if you have any concerns, you should ask your doctor.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

Sneak Peek utilizes the natural process of shared fetal DNA circulating inside the mother's bloodstream. Our PCR technology has the ability to detect the presence or absence of male Y chromosome in the blood sample provided starting at 6 weeks into pregnancy. If it is detected then the baby's gender is male and if it is not detected then the baby's gender is female. The test is backed by clinical research.
